What is a Baron or Baroness?
The Baron and Baroness are the feudal leaders of the Barony within the SCA (as compared to the Seneschal, who is the legal representative of the Barony to the world at large).

Within the feudal structure of the SCA we have titular heads of the Barony that are the representative of the Crown in the Barony. They are responsible for running the SCA aspects of the Barony. They are the Baron and Baroness of the Barony of the South Downs.
