Unto the populace of the Barony of the South Downs, greeting.
The new website has gone online and I have many other features planned or currently in development. Here's a list of things on the horizon:
- Barony of South Downs Calendar
- Resources section (links to resources on various topics such as costuming, etc.
- The Chronicle (online copies of past issues of the Baronial newsletter, The Chronicle)
- History of the Barony
Notice that last bullet. I am currently looking to expand this website with a history of the Barony of the South Downs. When I was a new member of the SCA, one of the things I enjoyed most and which made me feel a part of "the dream" and also an experience greater than myself, was listening to the stories of older members. Although I was only 17, and brand new to the SCA, I quickly learned the lore of my new Barony and felt a part of the larger community. Stories of the history of the Barony of the South Downs can inspire others to greatness and help others feel at home here. If you have great stories of events in the Barony of the South Downs or fun tales of previous members, please send them my way. Tasteful, tear-jerking, tragedy is okay, too. If you're not a writer, but you've seen it all pass by, timelines would also be helpful. If your work is selected, you will need to sign a release to have it included online, per Kingdom law. .
Yours In Service,
Beatrice
